An exceptionally rugged, long-lived, and low-maintenance ground cover, once established. Spreads slowly to form a solid cover. The sweet, flavorful berries are often gathered along with wild blueberries. Shade-tolerant, growing well in the forest understory, but for fruit production should have plenty of light. Requires a somewhat acidic soil (like blueberries) and prefers sandy soil. For fruit production, plant 2 or more.
