Shares traits with its much larger cousin amaryllis, narrow, grasslike foliage thrusts up delightful ½” bright yellow flower with six pointed petals which have an extended blossoming period from spring through summer. Hairy, crinkly leaves give the plant a silvery look. Grows in meadows and open woods in mountainous areas. Not commonly grown in gardens.
