Snowbell; storax. About 100 species of shrubs or trees of the N. Hemisphere, occurring mostly in tropical and warm temperate regions. Cultivated as ornamentals; also, one tropical species is the source of the aromatic resin benzoin. They prefer light, well drained soil.
