Hibiscus

(Malvaceae - mallow family)
About 250 species of herbs, shrubs and trees of warm-temperate and tropical regions. Some species are cultivated for food, fiber, or medicinal purposes. Many Hibiscus species are highly valued as ornamentals for their often large, showy flowers. The following species are wetland plants and will grow well in good, moist or wet soil. They flower in mid- to late summer.
