The outer leaf edges turn a bright red in the sun, making it an interesting groundcover. The spring flowers are white, star-shaped and produced in clusters on erect stems, held 2-4” above the foliage. It is a rare sedum, endangered in its native Appalachians. Cliff stonecrop grows on lightly shaded, limestone outcrops that are regularly damp but very well drained. Deer resistant
