A robust, strongly upright perennial with remarkable square stems. The leaves, which grow in pairs on the stem, are joined at their bases to form cups. Bears an abundance of yellow, sunflower-like blossoms in mid- to late summer. Attracts large numbers of butterflies while in flower.
