reed grass

ornamental grass, sun

This strongly upright clumper is particularly notable for being the first of the large ornamental grasses to bloom. The fluffy bluish plumes appear in early summer, mature to a golden tan, and remain showy into winter. This outstandingly ornamental and easily grown grass has been selected as Perennial Plant of the Year for 2001 by the Perennial Plant Association.
