Calla palustris - May 21

native, wet, sun - part shade
N. Temp Zone

A very hardy wildflower of cool wetlands. The creeping rootstock bears glossy, heart-shaped leaves. The showy flowers, which look much like those of the tropical calla, appear in late spring or early summer. Needs plenty of moisture, and prefers a cool, acidic soil. Partial shade would likely be helpful where summers are hot .
