walking fern

native, rock garden, terrarium, shade - shade

The undivided leaves of this small, low fern have very long, narrow tips which arch out away from the base of the plant. Where the leaf tips touch the ground, new plants often develop. Thus the fern "walks," spreading slowly to form a colony.
