Europe to Asia

An pretty perennial ground cover with a unpleasant common name. Pleasing textures and variegation for the partly shaded garden. Trailing stems which drop roots where they touch the ground, forming low mats. Leaves are usually blazed with white or cream on a dark background. Short, dense clusters of purple blossoms adorn the plants from spring into fall and during mild weather throughout the year. Prefers cool, acid soil with good drainage. Can be used in hanging baskets. Considered invasive in MD.
