Basal rosette of dark green, leathery, evergreen leaves. Bears crimson flowers about 2" across on upright stalks from late spring through early fall. Tolerant of dry soil and partial shade, but will flower best in full sun. A very attractive, well-mannered plant, suitable for rock gardens.
