Packing and Shipping Rates
We ship to all portions of the continental US except for California, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, and Nevada.
Note: For
Minnesota
,
we are required to bareroot plants and wash the roots before shipping (the
alternative being to use a highly toxic pesticide soil drench, which we are
unwilling to do). This requires a great deal of time, and has necessitated
higher packing and shipping rates for Minnesota. Depending on circumstances,
shipments to MN may be sent bareroot, but will usually be re-potted
in a pest-free soil mix.

Shipping
Most orders will be shipped by UPS. We will try to ship your order at a
suitable time, depending on your climate and the type of plants involved. Many plants
are shipped in small pots, or with potting soil on their roots, and can be sent
almost any time except during severely cold weather. Our experience in handling
plants this way has generally been very good, even when shipping plants to warm
climates during summer. When possible we acknowledge orders, indicating the
anticipated shipping time. As a very small nursery, other time demands of the
business often leave us unable to send acknowledgements, especially at busy
times of the year. If you place an order and it is not otherwise acknowledged,
you may confirm receipt of your order or learn the anticipated shipping date by
telephone. We are usually here (including weekends), and we will be glad to
answer questions concerning your order (or other questions which you may have).
If you have a written acknowledgement, please check it before inquiring
about an order. We usually succeed in shipping orders by the date promised.
Since many plants are shipped in leaf and growing, we often hold spring orders
until their destination is reasonably safe from frost. For this reason, and
because much of our propagation is done during the spring, our shipping dates
will often be later than would be expected for dormant stock. Shipping dates
may be dictated by the availability of stock, also.

Sales Tax
Orders shipped to or billed to
Massachusetts
addresses will be charged 5 percent sales tax. Plants listed as edible or edible fruit will not be taxed.

Payment
We will accept payment by check, money order, or credit card (we accept
MasterCard, Visa, Discover, American Express, and Diner's Club cards).
Note: You may deduct the amount of any payment which you have made for
our printed catalog from the total cost of your order.

Warranty
Successfully establishing any plants which you purchase from us requires two
things:
1.) that we deliver correctly labeled plants in good conditon at a
suitable time, and
2.) that you provide the necessary care once you receive
them.
We guarantee to fulfill our part in this. Your part is to conscientiously
care for the plants according to the instructions given in the catalog
descriptions, and in any planting and care information which may accompany your
order. If any plant which we sell is not true-to -name, or fails to survive and
you feel that we are at fault, we will replace the plant free of charge or
refund the purchase price. Beyond this, please let us know if you are dissatisfied
with our service for any reason. We shall make a sincere effort to treat our
customers fairly, and to provide the kind of service which we ourselves would
like to receive. We are always open to suggestions for improving our service.

Wholesale Orders
We do not have a separate wholesale price list available. Wholesale rates
are sometimes available on some items, however. Please inquire if you are
interested in a quantity of plants.
